Our mission is to research and analyse political, economic, social, cultural and religious trends in Africa to be used in advocacy for justice and change, underpinned by Islamic values and principles

Our Objectives

Develop a knowledge base about Islam on the African continent in Muslim majority and Muslim minority countries.

Analyse incidence of political, economic, ethnic, religious and social instability and conflict on the African continent and its impact on Muslims.

Initiate academic research that centralises anti-imperial and anti-apartheid thought both in its contemporary and historical contexts.

Counter and reshape narratives that seek to undermine Islam and Muslims on the African continent and beyond.

Promote the potential of South Africa and the African continent in strengthening and empowering the Muslim Ummah.
